Senior Development Specialist

Job Category: Full-Time, Remote Position

ROLE

The Senior Development Specialist will report to the development officer, and will be responsible for developing relationships with existing and new donors, and for maintaining donor data in the fundraising system.

This position is remote for daily work, but requires travelling for fundraising events, donor meetings, and annual staff retreats.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Understand the mission, vision, and values of CelebrateMercy

  • Understand CelebrateMercy’s service offering, including its brand, audience, goals, and all other aspects of its services.

  • Collect, organize, and maintain a complete and accurate database record of donors and contributions received

  • Interact with existing and new donors of all ages, and all giving levels.

  • Engage in donor stewardship: identify, cultivate, and solicit donors.

  • Assist in planning and executing fundraising initiatives

  • Work with other departments to ensure smooth execution of fundraising initiatives

Reporting & Improvement

  • Assist in regularly providing fundraising reports to management

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in a related field

  • Passion to interact and build relationship with donors of all ages, and diverse backgrounds

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion

  • Passion for data management and recordkeeping

  • Work experience at a non-profit organization, a plus

  • Work experience in a fundraising/ donor relations role, a plus

  • Strong time and project management skills

  • Excellent written and verbal skills in English

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to work and collaborate effectively with remote teams

  • Ability to self-train on new software & programs

  • Ability to travel to different regions several times a year

  • Strong sense of ownership of work, and strong ability to follow through on commitments

  • Knowledge or interest in the Prophet Muhammad’s life and character

  • Knowledge of Islam and Muslims in North America
